Kitchen Tile without Filters

This is what we will be making

Daisytile2

You will need the following items for this tutorial:
Corel Paint Shop Pro and my daisy and leaf in psp format, or tubes of your choosing.
Note: I made the daisy from one of my own photos and painted the leaf. You're welcome to use these items for anything you wish, but please do not offer them for download.

Note: This tutorial can be done in either PSP8 or PSP9, although the screenshots are from PSP8.

Butterfly divider

Letīs begin!

1. Create a new image, 425 by 425 pixels, transparent background.

2. Flood fill the image with white or a cream color. I used color #FFFFEF.

3. Duplicate the layer, name it Blinds, then go to Effects>Texture Effects>Blinds and use these settings:

Blinds

4. Repeat the Blinds effect, but this time, check the Horizontal box.

5. Create a new layer. Set your foreground color to a greyish yellow (or any dark version of your background color). I used color #A4A49D. Set your pen tool width to 2.00, Drawing Mode, Simple mode, Line segments.
Note: In PSPX your choice of tools is draw lines or draw point to point. Use draw point to point.

Now draw lines across the horizontal and vertical sections of your image. This is what I have so far:

Drawing lines

6. Grab your magic wand, tolerance on 0, and click on the lines. Go to Adjust>Add/Remove Noise>Add noise with these settings:

Gaussian
46%
Monochrome is Checked

7. Activate your Blinds layer. Invert your selection and go to Effects>3D Effects>Inner Bevel. Use these settings:

Inner Bevel

De-Select, then set your layer blend mode on Multiply.

8. Activate your bottom layer. Put your tube on this layer, and arrange it to your satisfaction. If you want to get more of a Painterly effect, go to Adjust>Add/Remove Noise>Edge Preserving Smooth, and set the amount to between 10 and 25.

At this point, I went to Adjust>Colorize and changed the color of my "grout" to harmonize with my tube.

9. Merge All>Flatten. Go to Effects>3D Effects>Buttonize, and use these settings:

Buttonize

10. Add your signature.....and you're done!

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.

NOTE: Any image you make using this tutorial is completely your own property.
