This is what we will be making

In order to do this tutorial you will need PSP 8 which you can get here: www.jasc.com, and the Canvas bitmap file. You may already have this file since it came with PSP 8, but if you don't, you can download it here. Unzip the file and place it into your My Documents>My PSP8 Files>Textures folder.
This is a great way to use those slightly blurry flower photos you just can't bear to throw away (but it also works on non-blurry pics).
Note: This method works best on photos with large central images, like flower close-ups. It can also work on a close-up of a face, but the result isn't too flattering, LOL. If you want to use it for something like a landscape photo, you will get the best results if you skip Step 3. See an example here.
Let´s begin!

1. Open up the photograph you want to use, and resize it if necessary. It should be no larger than 400px on the longest side.
2. Go to Adjust>Softness>Soft Focus. These are the settings I used:

3. Repeat Step 2.
4. Go to Effects>Edge Effects>Erode.
5. Go to Effects>Art Media Effects>Brushstrokes. These are the settings I used:

6. Go to Effects>Texture Effects>Texture. Click on the drop down arrow and find the Canvas.bmp file...

then adjust your settings.
Finished!
Add your signature and a frame. If you would like to use the same frame as I did, you'll find the tutorial for it here.
Here's the result my tester "Mur" got on a photo of a rose.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
